What We Do
Living Our Faith Beyond the Walls
Worship is at the heart of our community, but it does not end at the church door. At UCC Peterborough, we believe that the love of Christ calls us to service, compassion, and justice in our local community and beyond. Outreach is how we live our faith in action.
Ongoing Ministries of Service
- End 68 Hours of Hunger – Volunteers shop, pack, and deliver bags of food so that children who receive free school meals will not go hungry over weekends.
- Project Linus – Our knitters and quilters create handmade blankets for children in crisis, offering warmth, security, and comfort.
- Church World Service Kits & Blankets – Each year, we collect hygiene kits, school kits, and blankets to support families recovering from disasters.
- Monday Night Suppers – For years, our kitchen has been a place where the community gathers for food and fellowship. While paused during renovations, we look forward to welcoming neighbors back to the table soon.
- Affordable Housing & Mission House – Our congregation advocates for safe, sustainable housing in our region, continuing a long tradition of hospitality and care for those in need.
Events That Make a Difference
Our outreach is often paired with beloved community traditions:
- Annual Holiday Stroll – A festive event that raises funds for local and global missions.
- Cupcake Booth – A joyful tradition that connects us with neighbors at Children and Arts each year.
- Rummage Sales & Pie Sales – Bringing the community together while supporting service projects.

Why We Serve
In every project, we follow Jesus’ call to love our neighbor as ourselves. Service is not optional — it is central to who we are. We do this work not only to meet immediate needs but also to witness to God’s justice, compassion, and peace.
Get Involved
There are many ways to participate — from donating to volunteering to simply showing up in support. Everyone has a role to play in building a more just and loving community.
